Find Joy in the Journey GIVEAWAY!

I'm Chapter Two.  My name {Jen} is the title.  How cool is that?!

Let me back up a bit.  It started three years ago when Trevor and I decided God was calling us to adopt from Ethiopia.  Shortly thereafter, we heard about Worthy of the Prize Ministries and their amazing Chosen Child program.  We were able to fund raise through them and in the process, I forged a friendship with the founder of the ministry, Erin Franklin.

About a year and a half later, Erin asked me to write the story of our journey to Bek and how we found joy in that journey for her E-book {Find Joy in the Journey}.  I agreed, wrote it, and several months later, the book is NOW complete and ready for download.

The book tells the story of 12 women (including yours truly) finding joy through the Heavenly Father along a trying journey.  I am humbled to have been a part of this project and hope that you will consider downloading the book.  It is a great summer read AND will support my friend, Erin's ministry.  Win-win!!

In the meantime, to celebrate the release of the book, WOTP Ministry is doing a HUGE giveaway.  There are four items in the giveaway as follows {instructions for entering below prize list}:

1. A super cute fun flops large utility tote from Thirty-One Gifts...perfect for hauling all of your towels, toys, and equipment to the park, pool, or beach in style this summer.  Donated by Maureen Emmett (who is also donating 20% of all orders to Worthy of the Prize Ministries when you place your order here)

 2. A Kindle E-reader with the "Find Joy in the Journey" E-book downloaded onto it!

3. A custom, handmade summer fun tote bag in grey chevron from NeeJee Wear, perfect for carrying stuff to the park, pool, or beach this summer.  Made out of laminated fabric, making it super easy to wipe down and keep clean.

4. A custom 16x20 painted "find joy in the journey" canvas from Bee Creative, which would look fantastic hanging in any home.  A perfect daily reminder that because God is with you on your journey, there is JOY to be found, despite your circumstances.

"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" {Esther 4:14}

Adoption Auction {Teaser #9} + 1 Month Waiting Giveaway!

Today's auction preview is dainty and petite!

Photobucket

AND, the second item is made by my darling daughter (with supervision and some help, of course!).

Melia got an early birthday present when Trev finished her loft bed today.  (This will have a post of its own VERY soon!! :))  Anyway, one of the sides has a built-in bulletin board for her to display all of her beautiful works of art from Kindergarten.  So, I got to thinking that she needed some pretty pushpins to help her hang her work and this idea was born!  She loves to craft as much as I do, I think!  So, she made 5 sets of 12...2 for herself and 3 for me.

SO, in honor of being on the waiting list for one month TODAY, I am giving one set of them away (and putting the other two in the auction which starts Saturday!).

Want to win a set?

More items from the auction.  Remember, you can bid on these items from January 29th through February 5th!

One of these {maybe the bottom one} is from a fellow adoptive family awaiting their referral.  They are about a month ahead of us and she does all kinds of amazing artwork to raise money for their adoption.  She is giving away one of her pieces in honor of their 2 month waiting date.  Check it out here: http://pitterpatterart.wordpress.com/2011/01/16/hoorah-weekend-2-month-giveaway/#comment-3130

P.S. I would really love the large Africa artwork canvas she does if anyone is thinking of buying me a present in the near future! ;)

Waiting Day Giveaway!

You know how I love free stuff, right?!  So, in honor of our news today that we are a waiting family, I am going to do a giveaway!! :)

Let me introduce you to The Adopt Shoppe.  The Adopt Shoppe is owned and operated by an adoptive mother named Kate.  Kate and her husband adopted a beautiful baby girl, Mia, from His Hands Taiwan (the mission that we thought we would adopt from before God led us to Ethiopia).  Here is what Kate had to say about their adoption journey and her shop:

"My husband and I have been married for 11 years. We lost 2 baby boys before we had our 2 bio children, Madison & Mason. After M & M, the doctors said we couldn't have any more children. We've always wanted to adopt, but didn't know where or how to start. A friend told me about some missionaries in Taiwan that help women there that are willing to give birth to their babies and make an adoption plan for them instead of having abortions--which is incredibly common and VERY accepted, even encouraged there. We did some research on Taiwan. They worship SO many gods over there still. Pretty much any and every god but the TRUE and living God in heaven. My heart broke for these women/girls that had very little options/ no one to turn to or help/ and no faith in God. We wanted to ensure that at least one of these babies from Taiwan grew up knowing without a doubt that God the Father loves her. We brought Mia home in August. She was 5 1/2 months old when we brought her home. If you've adopted before, you know the cost involved. When we traveled in August, it was in the peak traveling time to/from Taiwan, apparently! We had to charge the outrageous cost of the plane tickets to a credit card. That's what I'm working to pay off. And after that is done, we will start saving to bring another little one into a Christian home! Thank you SO much for your help in our adoption(s) and for your interest in our story!"

While we were researching adoption options, I "met" Kate and instantly I knew she was a great lady!  Since that time, she has been a constant source of encouragement for us in our adoption.  Four days ago, Kate sent me this in the mail...

Isn't is gorgeous?!  I told her that I love it so much, I may wear it every day until we bring our babies home!

Anyway, Kate wants YOU to have one, too!! :)  So, we are doing a giveaway on this blog for one of Kate's necklaces (of your choice!)

If you'd like to win one, here is what you need to do...

And the Winner is...

Thank you so much for keeping up with our blog and for entering to win the CCC HOPE letter art!  We had 24 entries in our giveaway (not bad for our first one!).  I used a Random Number Generator from Random.org to get our winner.   And the winner is...
Congratulations, Amber Strickland!!  I will get in touch with you about getting your art to you!

I have to be honest, though, I actually feel like the one that won a prize, because, at the end of a long and trying week, this...
was in our mailbox!!  Our fingerprinting appointments!  So, on December 1st, we will be roadtripping to Fort Smith, Arkansas to get our biometrics taken.  I am beside myself excited!  First of all, this is a major step in our process and secondly, after reading a blog that I follow, I was led to believe this process could take up to six months (as I mentioned a couple of posts ago).  Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when Trev told me that the appointment letters were in our mailbox.

Mr. Camden has been saying his last two months' memory verses from pre-school over and over, so I thought with this great news, it would be a perfect time to share them with you.

Have a blessed weekend!
